Valentina Ramirez

Viewing and visitation for Valentina Ramirez, 81 of Lubbock will be from 1:00 p.m.to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, October 18, 2020 at Calvillo Funeral Chapel. A rosary will be held 6:00 pm Monday, October 19, 2020 in the Chapel of Calvillo Funeral Home, with viewing beginning the same day at 10:00 am. Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at Our Lady of Guadalupe with Deacon Joe Martinez officiating. Burial will follow in Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home.

Mrs. Ramirez was called to be with the Lord, Thursday, October 15, 2020. She was born on February 10, 1939 in Jarrell, Texas to the late Apolonio and Concepcion Brito and was a devout Catholic by faith. Later on, in life Valentina went onto to marry Luis Ramirez in Lubbock. She worked as a clothes presser for many years. Valentina loved to sing, to dance and cooking. She also found delight in knitting and playing bingo. However, her greatest joy in life was being with her family.

Survivors include her husband Luis Ramirez of Lubbock; sons Pete and wife Mary Mata of Carlise and Celso Mata both of Lubbock; Daughters Maggie Moreno of Lubbock, Guadalupe Mata of San Antonio, Angie Perez and husband Bobby of Arlington, Estella Moreno and husband Anthony of Washington, and Rosario Rodriguez and husband Isidro of Lubbock; a brother Jose Brito of Anton; nineteen grandchildren; thirty five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; sons Martin Mata and Frank Mata; a daughter Santos Mata; brothers Fernando Brito and Juan Brito.

According to local and state guidelines, facemasks will be required at all times during visitation and funeral services. Temperatures will be taken upon entering funeral home
