Thomasa Pequeño

Thomasa G. Pequeño, 76 of Midland passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2022.  Celebration of Life for Ms. Pequeño will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 25, 2022, at Providence Baptist Church (1301 49th Street, Lubbock, Texas 79412) with Rev. Danny Bernal officiating.  Burial will follow at Southland Cemetery in Southland, Texas.  All arrangements were made under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home & Chapel.

Thomasa was born October 27, 1945, in Slaton, Texas to the late Pablo Sr. and Margarita Pequeño. Thomasa was a lifelong resident of Slaton and a homemaker. She enjoyed having a full house and was an extraordinary cook. Christ and music were her passion, reading the bible and singing praises of worship were part of her daily life. Her family will always remember how Thomasa loved to laugh, spend time with them and what a deep love she had for her grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents Pablo Sr. (May 2004) and Margarita Pequeño (2004)

Those left to cherish her memory are her son McDaniel D. Ortiz of Midland; two daughters Mary Ellen De La Rosa of Midland and Alice Montes of Lubbock; two brothers Pablo Pequeño Jr. of Midland and Sammy Pequeño of Missouri; three sisters Paula Ceniceros of Midland, Esperanza Luna of Uvalde, and Naomi Carrillo of Lubbock; ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
