Tayde Meraz De Arriaga “Yaya” was called home to be with our Lord and Savior on Wednesday, August 1, 2018. Rosary will be held 7 PM, Sunday, August 5, 2018 at Calvillo Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M., Monday, August 6, 2018 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Martin Pina officiating. Burial will follow at Wolfforth Cemetery under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home and Chapel in Lubbock.
Mrs. Arriaga was born December 27, 1956 in Mexico to the late Jose and Agapita Meraz. She later went onto marry Alfredo Arriaga on March 24, 1979 in Torreon, Coah. Mexico. She was a homemaker, loved cooking, to crochet and gardening. She left a legacy of love for her family to always remember and cherish.
Mrs. Arriaga leaves behind three sons Alfredo Arriaga Jr., Cesar Arriaga and Jose Arriaga; three daughters Elena Ramirez, Ofelia Gomez and Clarissa Arriaga all of Lubbock; Brothers Jose Manuel Meraz Montoya, Damian Meraz Montoya, Juan Meraz Montoya, Guadalupe Meraz Montoya; Sisters Juana Meraz, Elena Meraz Montoya, Irene Meraz Montoya, Ma Francisca Meraz Montoya; Thirteen grandchildren and one great grandchild.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband (2014); parents; a sister Angela Meraz Montoya; a grandson Gabriel Gomez and a granddaughter Hana Arriaga.
