Sofia Estrada

Sofia M. Estrada, 88, passed away August 27, 2019 in Slaton.  Services for Mrs. Estrada will be 10:30 am Friday, August, 30, 2019 at St. Jude Catholic Church with Father Jacob Puthuparambil officiating.  Burial will follow in Nevels Cemetery under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home.  Visitation will begin 10:00 am Thursday, August 29, 2019 in Calvillo Funeral Chapel in Tahoka with a rosary starting at 7:00 pm the same evening.

Sofia was born September 30, 1930 in Chriesman, TX to Magdaleno & Martina Martinez.  She married the late Cipriano Estrada on January 20, 1950 in Bryan,TX and was a catholic. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, baking, crocheting and had an extensive Micky Mouse collection. She loved flowers and raising her children was the highlight of her life.  Her memory will forever be cherished by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by five daughters, Sofia Carrillo of Lubbock, Celia Rodulfo of Plainview, Antonia Garza of New Home, Janie Shaver of Kress, Angie Rodriguez of Tahoka; three sisters, Tomasa Gonzales of Dallas, Margarita Milazzo of College Station, Lupe Simmons of Moody; a longtime friend Lupe Garcia of Wilson; seventeen grandchildren; forty-one great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Cipriano Estrada (1993)  two sons, Samuel Estrada, Daniel Estrada.
