Samuel Estrada

Viewing and visitation for Samuel "Sammy" Estrada, 49 of Slaton will begin 2 PM, Monday, July 1, 2019 at Calvillo Funeral Home Chapel -TAHOKA. A recitation of the rosary will be held the same evening, beginning at 7PM in the Calvillo Funeral Home Chapel-Tahoka. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 AM, Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at St. Jude Catholic Church with Father John Rathinam officiating. Burial will follow in The Nevels Cemetery under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home and Chapel.

Samuel went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 28, 2019. He was born on September 25, 1969 in Slaton to the late Cepriano (1993) and Sofia Estrada. Samuel loved to cook, often joking about having his own show. He enjoyed sketching drawings of his family, listening to hard rock music and building car models.

Survivors include his mother Sofia Estrada of Slaton; five sisters Sofia Carrillo of Lubbock, Celia Rodulfo of Plainview, Antonia Garza of New Home, Janie Shaver of Kress, Angie Rodriguez of Tahoka, and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother Daniel Estrada in 1984.
