Reyes Esquibel Jr, 66, passed away Saturday, April 11, 2020 in Lubbock. Services for Mr. Esquibel will be 10:00 am, Tuesday, April 14, 2020 in The Chapel of Calvillo Funeral Home. (due to the current pandemic associated with covid-19only; ten people at any given time will be allowed into the chapel during service) Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday, April 13, 2020 in the Chapel of Calvillo Funeral Home. (due to the current pandemic associated with covid-19only; ten people at any given time will be allowed into the chapel during service) All arrangements were made under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home.
Reyes was born February 17, 1954 in Lubbock to Reyes & Victoria Esquibel. He was a catholic and faithful member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and worked in the Health Department for the City of Lubbock until his retirement. He enjoyed sports and was the score keeper at Jones Stadium and Plains Capitol Park for many years. Most of all, Reyes loved spending time with his family and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by a son, Jason Esquibel of Lubbock; a daughter, Crystal Esquibel of Lubbock; his mother Victoria Esquibel of Lubbock; four brothers, Roy Esquibel of San Antonio, Ralph Esquibel of Plainview, Lonnie Esquibel of Lubbock, Rene Esquibel of San Antonio; two sisters, Lydia Rodriguez of San Antonio, Ofelia Esquivel of Lubbock.
He is preceded in death by his father Reyes Esquibel Sr. and by a brother, Rosendo Esquibel.
