Rene Perez

Viewing and visitation for Mr. Rene Perez, 56 of Idalou, will begin 10:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m., Saturday, January 18, 2025 at Calvillo Funeral Home Chapel. A Celebration of Life will take place at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, January 19, 2025, at Calvillo Funeral Home Chapel with Daniel Garza officiating. Arrangements were made under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home & Chapel.

On the morning of Saturday, January 11, 2025, Rene went to be with the Lord. He was born on September 28, 1968, in Mission, Texas, to Mario and Amada Perez and his journey through life was marked by deep love for his family and a passion for the simple pleasures that brought him joy. On July 27, 2007, Rene married Jessica Iglesias in Lubbock cherishing seventeen years of a loving marriage. He was a dedicated trucker for Saenz Trucking, Rene traversed the roads with skill and commitment. When he wasn’t on the road, one could find him watching the Food Channel, often while savoring his favorite drinks — a classic combination of Jack Daniels and Dr. Pepper. A collector at heart, he found delight in acquiring coins, knives, tools, curds, and skulls. However Rene's greatest joy in life was spending time with his family, they will forever cherish the memories they have with him. He not only leaves behind a family, but also a legacy of love, laughter, and the spirit of togetherness that will continue to resonate in the hearts of everyone he touched.

He is preceded in death by his mother Amada Tamez Perez.

He is survived by his wife Jessica Iglesias of Idalou; sons Noah Perez of Idalou, Rick Garcia of Lubbock, Zach Garcia of Idalou, and Andre Garcia of Idalou; daughters Amada Perez of Idalou, Icesys Perez of Idalou, Chloe Perez of Idalou, and Alexis Garcia of Lubbock; his father, Mario Perez of Mission, Texas; Brothers: Rick Perez of Idalou, Mario Perez Jr. of Mission, Texas, Gilbert Perez of Minnesota, and Roland Perez of Mission, Texas; sisters Alama Johnson of Acuff, Lorena Perez of Ralls, Melissa Perez of Cone, Texas, and Norma Perez of Mission; ten grandchildren.
