Obituary:
Refugio Vasquez Jr., 56 passed away Saturday, May 3, 2014 at his residence. Services for Mr. Vasquez will be at 10:00 am Thursday, May 8, 2014 at St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church with Father Raj Arokiasamy officiating. A rosary was held at 7:00 pm, Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at Calvillo Funeral Chapel.
Refugio was born May 1, 1958 in Pearsall, Texas to Refugio and Consuelo Vasquez. He married Rosemary De Los Santos in 1981 in Batesville, Texas. He worked for Five Star Gin Repair as a cement layer for many years and he enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.
He is survived by two daughters, Ida Mesa, Margarita Mesa both of Shallowater; two brothers, Hector Vasquez of Batesville, Armando Vasquez of Lubbock; six sisters, Yolanda Lopez, Linda Moreno, Delma Martinez all of Batesville, Nora Quijano of Lapryor; Beatrice Velasquez of Uvalde; Maria Ramos of Quitaque; five grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Rosemary De Los Santos; his parents, Refugio & Consuelo Vasquez; one granddaughter, Erlinda Miranda; four brothers, Ventura Vasquez, Paul Vasquez, Robert Vasquez, Oscar; one sister, Gloria Rios.
