Pedro Rodriguez Sr.

Viewing and visitation for Mr. Pedro Rodriguez Sr., 89 of La Feria, Texas will begin 11:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at Calvillo Funeral Home Chapel-Lubbock. Graveside Services will begin at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, February 27, 2025, at O’Donnell Cemetery in O’Donnell, Texas under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home & Chapel.

On the morning of Sunday, February 23, 2025, Pedro went to be with the Lord. He was born on January 5, 1936, in Crystal City, Texas, to the late Mateo and Consuelo Rodriguez. Later in life in 1954 Pedro married Juanita Castro cherishing fifty-eight years of a loving marriage, before she preceded him in death in November of 2012.

Pedro’s life was characterized by a deep commitment to his work and an unwavering love for his family. His days were often spent tending to the fields, where he cultivated not just crops but also the spirit of hard work and dedication that he hoped to pass down through generations. He found joy in simple pleasures, watching baseball and football games. He enjoyed quiet moments spent fishing; the gentle ripple of water calmed his spirit. He took comfort in reading his Bible, drawing strength and guidance from his faith.

His children will always remember their beloved patriarch as a firm but loving father. Pedro will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his Parents Mateo and Consuelo Rodriguez; his loving wife Juanita Rodriguez; two sons Gilbert Rodriguez and Pedro Rodriguez Jr.

He is survived by his six sons Johnny Rodriguez of Lubbock, Richard Rodriguez of La Feria, Texas Pete Rodriguez of O'Donnell, Rodrigo Rodriguez of O'Donnell, Gabriel Rodriguez of Tuscola, Texas and Miguel Rodriguez of Hobbs, New Mexico; five daughters Maria Rodriguez of Brenham, Texas, Lupe Casillas of Nampa, Idaho, Modesta Rodriguez of Lufkin, Texas, Isabel Rodriguez of Minneapolis, Minnesota and Raquel Pond of Lufkin, Texas; a brother Armando Rodriguez of Austin; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
