Paula Alvarez

Paula Alvarez, 78 passed away Monday, October 12, 2015 at her residence.  Services for Mrs. Alvarez will be 1:00 pm Friday, October 16, 2015 at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Monsignor James O’Connor officiating.  Burial will follow at City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home.  A rosary will be held 7:00 pm Thursday, October 15, 2015 at Calvillo Funeral Home.

Paula was born January 26, 1937 in Gillett to Magdaleno & Salome Alvarez.  She worked as a nurses’ aide for many years and led the church choir.  She enjoyed bingo, crocheting, and spending time with her family and grandchildren.

She is survived by two sons, Daniel Mosqueda, Dimas Mosqueda both of Lubbock; four daughters, Janie Young, Lucy Martinez, Maria Martinez, Anna Mosqueda all of Lubbock; two brothers, Blas Alvarez, Pedro Alvarez both of Mission; two sisters, Irma Alvarez, Dominga Alvarez both of Mission.

She is preceded in death by two brothers, Manuel Ramon, Ligerio Ramon
