Octaviano Torres Jr.

Octaviano C. Torres Jr., 87 of Lubbock went to be with the Lord Thursday, December 23, 2021. Viewing and visitation will begin Monday, December 27, 2021, at Calvillo Funeral Home Chapel from 2:00 p.m.–8:00 p.m. Second day viewing will begin Tuesday, December 28, 2021, from 10:00 am-8:00 pm with a rosary beginning at 6:00 p.m. the same day. A Celebration of Life will begin 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at Calvillo Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gilbert Herrera officiating. Interment will follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home and Chapel.

Octaviano was born December 12, 1934, in San Marcos to Octaviano Sr. and Antonia Torres. Later in life on February 14, 1975, he married Juanita Alvarado in Lubbock, cherishing 47 years of marriage. Octaviano was a trucker for numerous years before retiring. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and gardening. However, his greatest joy in life was spending time with his family, they will always cherish the memories they have with him.

He is preceded in death by his parents Octaviano Sr. and Antonia Torres; a daughter Rachel Guillot; seven sisters Viviana Morales, Carmen Torres, Guadalupe Torres, Elia Torres, Juanita Torres, Carman Lopez and Guadalupe Quezada; four brothers Blas Torres Sr., Jose Torres, Arturo Torres, and Jesus Torres.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Juanita Torres of Lubbock; four sons Santos Torres and wife Leticia of Austin,  Alfredo Padron of Lubbock, Carlos Torres of Chicago and Hector Torres of Chicago; three daughters Ester Robledo and husband Nicolas Chavira of Lubbock, Norma Buckingham of Wolfforth, Lupe Rodriguez and wife Linda Martinez of Lubbock and Becky Aguilar of Plainview; sisters Pauline Segura of Schulenburg, Texas, Santos Soto of Mansfield, Texas, Julia Proa of Mansfield, Texas, Mary Helen Villanueva of San Antonio; 11 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 16 great great grandchildren.
