Modesta Trevino

Modesta Trevino, 76, of Lubbock went to be with the Lord Thursday, March 9, 2023.  Visitation will begin on Monday, March 13, 2023, from 1:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at Calvillo Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at Calvillo Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Andrade officiating. Burial will follow in Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park Cemetery. All arrangements were made under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home & Chapel.

Modesta was born on June 20, 1946, in Stanton, Texas to the late Ignacio Sr. and Ines Mendez.  Later in life on October 21, 1963, she married Rodolfo Trevino in Littlefield, Texas, he preceded her in death in 1994. She enjoyed going to bingo and watching wrestling whenever the opportunity was there but most of all she enjoyed being with her grandchildren.  Modesta was a faithful and devout Christian and a very special example of a mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Rodolfo Trevino; her parents Ignacio Sr. and Ines Mendez; two brothers Ignacio Mendez Jr., and San Juan Gonzales, a sister Criselda Trejo.

Those left to cherish her memory are three daughters, Patricia Guajardo and husband Luis of Lubbock, Gloria and her husband Manuel Padraza of Lubbock, Maggie and husband Noe Vega of Lubbock; two sons, Rodolfo Trevino Jr. of Dumas, and Hijino Trevino of Lubbock; one sister, Ines Manriquez of Lubbock, one brother Gregorio Mendez and wife Adriana Gonzalez; twelve grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren.
