Minerva Garcia

Viewing and visitation for Minerva “Minnie” Garcia, 86, of Lubbock will be from 11:00 a.m.to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, January 14, 2021 at Calvillo Funeral Home Chapel with a rosary beginning at 6:00 pm, the same day.  Graveside Services will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, January 15, 2021 at Abernathy Cemetery with Daniel Garza officiating. All arrangements were made under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home and Chapel.

Minerva L. Garcia left to join her Lord and Savior on Monday January 11, 2021. “Minnie” as she was affectionately known, was born October 9, 1934. She married Erasmo Garcia Sr. on February 25, 1956 and had three children Erasmo Jr., Salvador, and Elizabeth. Minnie was a strong and spirited soul that gave to others. She enjoyed cooking, bingo, dancing and supporting her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren in their activities. Family meant everything to her. She spoke a lot about her dad and mom Tirso and Maria Lopez.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband Erasmo Garcia Sr., a son Salvador Garcia and an infant daughter Elizabeth Garcia.

Those left to cherish her memory are a son Erasmo Garcia Jr. and wife Mary Teresa; a brother Oscar Lopez; a sister Josefina Milstead; granddaughters Amie Talamantez and husband Armando, Veronica Garcia and husband Ruben, Nina Ballew and husband Austin; great grandchildren Ashlee and husband Juan, Andie, Addie, Evan, Nathan and Victoria; Four great great grandchildren Brennen, Bryce, Braelynn and Blake.

Minnie will be remembered as a generous, caring and loving person.

According to local and state guidelines, facemasks will be required at all times during visitation and funeral services. Temperatures will be taken upon entering funeral home
