Mary Macek

Mary Alice Macek, 84, of Big Spring passed away Sunday, March 15, 2020 in Lubbock.  Services for Mrs. Macek will be 2:00 pm, Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at St Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father Reymundo Manriquez officiating.  A rosary will be held 7:00 pm, Tuesday, March 17, 2020 in The Chapel of Calvillo Funeral Home in Lubbock. Visitation will begin the same day Tuesday, March 17, 2020 from 5:00-9:00pm.

Mary was born May 18, 1935 in Delano Estacado to Paul Sr. and Caroline Duran. She went onto marry Richard Macek on October 31, 1978 they would go onto to celebrate over 40 years of marriage. Mary was a Catholic, she was always kind and loving to all who knew her. Cleaning and dancing were things Mary enjoyed. However, her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents Paul Sr. and Caroline Duran; her loving husband Richard Macek; numerous brothers and sisters.

Those left to cherish her memory are a son Toby Burns of Lubbock; daughters Felisha Burns of Big Spring and Carolyn Burns of Lubbock; brothers Tony Duran of New Deal and Joe Duran of Lubbock; a sister Rosie Aguilar of Round Rock; five grandchildren, five great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
