Martha V. Martinez

Mrs. Martha V. Martinez, 88, of Lubbock passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2022.  Visitation will begin Thursday, November 17, 2022, at Calvillo Funeral Home-Lubbock from 3:00 p.m.–8:00 p.m., with a prayer service beginning at 6:00 p.m. the same evening. A Celebration of Life will begin, 10:00 a.m., Friday, November 18, 2022, at Encounter Grace Church 101 East Tulane Street, Lubbock with Pastor Eleazar Lara officiating. Burial will follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park.  All arrangements were made under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home & Chapel.

Martha was born November 8, 1934, in Kenedy, Texas to the late Magdelino and Francisca Vasquez. She later went on to marry Antonio Martinez on October 3, 1963, in Lubbock, he preceded her in death on February 1, 2020.   Martha moved to Lubbock in 1960 and was a stay-at-home Mom.  She enjoyed spending time with her family and loved her great grandchildren.  She had a passion for gardening and had a green thumb for roses.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and loved her.           

She is preceded in death by her loving husband Antonio Martinez and by her parents Magdelino and Francisca Vasquez, a son, Freddy Martinez, a brother Pedro Vasquez, sisters; Virginia Rosendo, Francisca De La Paz, Juanita Rivera, Angelita Ramirez, and Petra Barron; a grandson, Antonio Raul Martinez.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons Antonio Martinez Jr., Magdelino Martinez, and Danny Martinez all of Lubbock; one daughter, Norma L. Reina of Lubbock. eleven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren.
