Mario Chacon

Viewing and visitation for Mario Y. Chacon, 68 of Lubbock will begin from 10:00 a.m.to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, October 8, 2020 in the Chapel of Calvillo with a rosary beginning at 6:00 pm the same day. Funeral Services will be held 2:30 p.m., Friday, October 9, 2020 at Calvillo Funeral Chapel with Father Rene Perez officiating. Burial will follow in Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home.

Mr. Chacon was called to be with the Lord, Tuesday, October 6, 2020. He was born on August 15, 1952 in Chihuahua, Mexico to the late Ysabel and Juana Chacon and was Catholic. Mario worked as a farmer and in construction for many years. He loved cooking especially chicharrones, asados and bbqing. Most of all, Mario loved being with his family.  He will be missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his sons; Mario Chacon Jr. of Lubbock and Anthony Chacon of Lubbock; one daughter, Jessica Jordan of Lubbock; one brother, Alberto Chacon and wife Mary of Roswell, New Mexico; two sisters; Soledad Zaes of Chihuahua, Mexico,  Isabel Dorzal and husband Enrique of Chihuahua, Mexico; 10 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers and sisters Jesus Manuel Chacon, Gabriel Chacon, Eliodro Chacon, Ernestina Solis, and Trini Chacon.

According to local and state guidelines, facemasks will be required at all times during visitation and funeral services. Temperatures will be taken upon entering funeral home
