Maria Vasquez

Maria Alvarado Vasquez, 62 passed away Monday, March 13, 2017 in Abernathy.  Services for Mrs. Vasquez will be 10:00 am Thursday, March 16, 2017 at Calvillo Funeral Home with Pastor Alfredo Rodriguez officiating.  Arrangements were made under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home. A visitation will be held 12:00 pm today at Calvillo Funeral Home.

Maria was born August 20, 1954 in Lubbock to Alejandro & Belia Alvarado. Her faith in God resonated through her ministry and she enjoyed attending Centro Familiar Cristiano.  She also loved listening to gospel music and spending time with her family and grandchildren.

She is survived by two sons, Juan Gabriel Vasquez of Woodrow, Ricardo Antonio Vasquez of Kentucky; one daughter, Esmeralda Rodriguez of Abernathy; five brothers, Henry & Estella Alvarado, Rick & Cindy Alvarado both of Tahoka, Roy & Joanna Alvarado of Taft, Eddie & Cyndi Alvarado of Lubbock, Alejandro Alvarado of Corpus Christi; two sisters, Amelia Alvarado of Lubbock, Amelia Alvarado Vela of Corpus Christi; nine grandchildren.
