Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, October 6, 2014 at 10:00 a.m., in St. Patrick Catholic Church (1603 Cherry, Lubbock)

Interment will follow in City of Lubbock Cemetery

Obituary:
Rosary for Maria S. Soto, 83, of Lubbock will be today at 7 p.m. in Calvillo Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, October 6, 2014 at 10 a.m., in St. Patrick Catholic Church with Monsignor James O'Connor officiating. Burial will follow in the City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home.

Maria went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 2, 2014. She was born March 3, 1931 in San Antonia to the late Theodoro and Genoveva Serna. She married Gilbert G. Soto, Sr., SFC on June 22, 1952 in San Antonio. He preceded her in death on April 30, 2011. She was a homemaker and loved to be with her family. Playing bingo was her passion. She will forever be in our hearts.

Survivors include five sons, Gilbert S. Soto, Jr. of El Paso, John Paul Soto, Sr. and Irene Soto of Lubbock, Michael S. and Patricia Soto of Lubbock, Daniel and Kristina Soto of San Angelo, Anthony S. Soto of Lubbock; two daughters, Terrie S. Soto of Lubbock, Dianna S. and Ricardo Avila of Houston; a brother, Domingo Serna, Sr. of San Antonio; two sisters, Margaret Serna Sifuentes and Sally Abston both of San Antonio; thirty grandchildren; forty-one great grandchildren
