Maria Ester Ruel

Visitation for Ms. Maria Ester Ruel, 73 of Lubbock will begin 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., on Monday, December 19, 2022, at Calvillo Funeral Home Chapel-Lubbock with a prayer service beginning at 6:00 p.m. the same evening. A Celebration of Life will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at Calvillo Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Fernando Hernandez officiating. Burial will follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home.

Ms. Ruel was called to be with the Lord, Monday, December 12, 2022. She was born on October 25, 1949, in Pharr, Texas to Raynaldo and Morina Ruel. Maria was a devoted Christian. She worked numerous years for Xcel Services as a phone operator before retiring. In her spare time, she enjoyed restoring furniture.   

She is preceded in death by her parents Raynaldo and Morina Ruel; a son Jose Ruel; three brothers Roberto Ruel, Wally Ruel and Ray Ruel.

Those left to cherish her memory are a son Ramsey Ruel of Lubbock; a daughter Mahogany Ruel of Lubbock; a sister Minerva Ruel of Illinois; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
