Margie Nino, 65 of Tahoka, passed away Wednesday, September 15, 2021. Visitation will begin Friday, September 17, 2021, at Calvillo Funeral Home Chapel (Tahoka) from 2:00 p.m.–9:00 p.m., with a rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. the same evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 18, 2021, at St. Pius X Catholic Church in O’Donnell with Father John Ohlig officiating. Burial will follow at O’Donnell Cemetery in O’Donnell, Texas. All arrangements were made under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home and Chapel.
Margie was born November 20, 1955, in O’Donnell, Texas to the late Ricardo II and Sophia Santos. She married Leonardo O. Nino and he preceded her in 1989. Later on in life she married Johnny Gonzales, he preceded her in 2019. Margie was a homemaker and a member of St. Jude’s Catholic Church. She enjoyed reading, taking care of her grandchildren, keeping up with the yard, playing games with her family and visiting friends. However, her greatest joy in life was spending time with all of her family, they will always cherish the memories they have with her.
She is preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Jose Luis Santos, Roberto Santos, and Ruben Santos.
Those left to cherish her memory are one son Johnny Crispin Gonzales of Tahoka; three daughters, Monica and husband Julio Chica of Sinton, Jessica Nino of Lubbock and Patty and wife Matty Nino of Tahoka; six brothers, Henry Santos of Slaton, Ricardo Santos III of Ovalo, Tx, Daniel Santos of Schertz, Ralph Santos of Lubbock, Mike Santos of Floresville, and Raul Santos of Slaton; seven sisters, Oralia Herrera of Grant, Michigan, Janie Hornesto of O’Donnell, Rosa Stout of White Cloud, Michigan, Alice Gonzales of O’Donnell, Sally Escobedo of Tahoka, Soyla Castillo of Lubbock, and Gloria Murillo of Slaton; fourteen grandchildren and one great grandchild.
