Margarito "Mage" Deleon

Viewing and visitation for Mr. Margarito Deleon, 79 of Tahoka will begin Wednesday, June 5, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Calvillo Funeral Home Chapel-Tahoka with a rosary at 6:00 PM the same evening. A Funeral Mass will begin 10:00 AM, Thursday, June 6, 2024, at St Jude Catholic Church in Tahoka with Father Silvester Souza officiating. Burial will follow at Nevels Cemetery. All arrangements were made under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home.

On the morning of June 3, 2024, the world lost a remarkable soul with the passing of Margarito Deleon affectionately known as “Mage”. He was born on June 10, 1944, in Tahoka, Texas, to the late Miguel Sr. and Victoriana Deleon.
 
He was known as a very dedicated truck driver. Alongside this profession, he owned and operated The Tin Ranch, leaving his mark on the business world.
 
Beyond his work life, Margarito cherished various hobbies that brought him joy throughout his lifetime. Whether it was engaging in a friendly game of pool, participating in bingo nights, or trying his luck with the lotto, he found happiness in these simple pleasures.
 
Described as a sociable individual by all who crossed his path, Margarito had a heart of gold. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need and was revered for his charismatic personality. His vibrant spirit made him a beloved figure in his community, making him a joy to be around.
 
He is preceded in death by his parents Miguel Deleon Sr. and Victoriana Deleon; brothers Jesus Deleon, Robert Deleon, Mike Deleon Jr., Jose Deleon, Natividad Deleon, Christino Deleon; sisters Rosa Jasso and Guadalupe "Lupe" Garcia.

He is survived by his sons George Deleon and wife Patty of Brownfield, Texas, Valentin Deleon and wife Kathy of Spring, Texas, Joseph Deleon and wife Elisa of Tahoka, Texas; daughters Norma Jean Deleon of Nipomo, California, Rebecca Baily and husband Dustin of San Antonio, Texas; fourteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
