Margarita Ruelas

Margarita "Mage" Rueles, 59, passed away Saturday, February 24, 2018 at her residence in Slaton.  Services for Mrs. Rueles will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at Holy Ghost Victory Praise with Pastor Eleazar Lara officiating. Burial will follow in Englewood Cemetery in Slaton under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home. A prayer service will be held 7:00 pm Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at Calvillo Funeral Home.

Margarita was born June 2, 1958 in Mexico. She later married Simon Ruelas and was a homemaker. Mrs. Ruelas enjoyed dancing, doing crossword puzzles, listening to Ramon Ayala and Juan Gabriel. She loved to cook and cleaning for her family. Her greatest joy in life however was being a grandmother.

She is survived by her husband, Simon Ruelas of Slaton; sons Noe Flores of Lubbock, and Santiago Zuniga of Idalou; daughters Veronica Ruelas of Slaton, Yolanda Lopez of Houston, Hilda Ruelas of Lubbock, Sandy Busbey of Minnesota, Alexus Ruelas of Slaton, Christina Arispe of Lubbock, Chriselda Ruelas of Slaton and Nola Cuevas of New Mexico; brothers Genaro Sanchez of San Antonio and Lazaro Sanchez of Mexico; Sister Virginia Sanchez of Mexico; 32 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
