Manuel Ruiz

Manuel Ruiz, 93 passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2018 in Lubbock.  Services for Mr. Ruiz will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 3, 2018 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Martin Pina officiating.  Burial will follow in Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home and Chapel.  A rosary will be held 7:00 p.m. Thursday, August 2, 2018 at Calvillo Funeral Home and Chapel.

Manuel was born to Augustine and Soledad Ruiz on October 31, 1924 in Parral, Chihuahua.  He worked in  agriculture most of his life.  He enjoyed singing,  playing cards and pool in which he was very good at but his greatest joy in life was being with his family.

He is survived by three sons, Augustine Ruiz, Javier (Guadalupe) Ruiz, and Marcos (Dora) Ruiz; six daughters, Manuela (Felipe) Vela, Alejandra (Ricky) Prieto, Sylvia (Reyes) Ruiz, Camila (Socorro) Ruiz, Nati (Erasmo) Ruiz and Teresa (Carlos) Cons; two brothers Norberto Ruiz and Roman Ruiz; three sisters, Francisca Ruiz, Ramona Ruiz and Celestina Ruiz; thirty two grandchildren, forty eight great grandchildren and two great- great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife (Sept 1969) his parents, brother Constancio Ruiz, and three sisters, Paubla Ruiz, Maria de Jesus and Rosa Ruiz.
