Lupe Garcia

Viewing and visitation for Lupe R. Garcia, 72 of Lubbock will be from 1:00 p.m.to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, October 25, 2020 at Calvillo Funeral Chapel with a rosary at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be 12:00 p.m., Monday, October 26, 2020 at Our Lady of Guadalupe with Father Martin Pina officiating. Burial will follow in Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home.

Mrs. Garcia was called to be with the Lord, Friday, October 23, 2020. She was born on December 12, 1947 in Lamesa, Texas to the late Luis and Maria “Ruth” Richie and was a Catholic by faith. Later, in life Lupe went onto to marry Juan L. Garcia in Denver City. She worked for Dynamic Foods for numerous years and loved dancing, playing bingo, and participating in football squares. She also found delight in watching her novelas and making others happy. Her greatest joy in life however, was being a grandmother and spending time with her family.

Survivors include a son, Eddie Moreno of Big Springs; two daughters, Evie Serda of Wolfforth and Evie R. Moreno Gonzales of Lubbock; eleven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband Juan L. Garcia.

According to local and state guidelines, facemasks will be required at all times during visitation and funeral services. Temperatures will be taken upon entering funeral home
