The family of Mrs. Luisa Velasquez Flores, 73 of Tahoka will host a memorial service at a late date.
Luisa went to be with the Lord on April 30, 2024. She was born on August 3, 1950, in Belton, Texas to the late Rafael Sr. and Guadalupe Velasquez. Later in life on May 27, 1967, Luisa went on to marry Johnny D. Flores in Wilson, Texas cherishing fifty-seven years of a loving marriage.
She was a beloved caretaker at Lynnwood Assistant Living where she always brought comfort and support to those in need. She was also a former employee at Goodwill Industries for numerous years where her sense of empathy and genuine care shone brightly through helping others.
Throughout her life, she found joy in simple pleasures such as crafting pottery, collecting antiques, and expressing her artistic talents through oil painting. However, Luisa's family was her greatest treasure.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Johnny D. Flores of Tahoka; sons J.D. Flores and Christian Avery Flores, both of Tahoka; a special niece Jessica Ann Flores Rosales of Lubbock; brothers Joel Velasquez of Slaton, Rafael Velasquez Jr. of California, Jesse Velasquez of Slaton, Lancho Velasquez of Arizona, and Timotheo Velasquez of Slaton; sisters Irene Riojas of Lubbock, Ruth Velasquez of Oklahoma, and Esmeralda Rodriguez of Wilson; as well as three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
