Luis Martinez Jr.

Luis Martinez Jr, 27, passed away Saturday, May 25, 2019 in Lubbock.  Service for Mr. Martinez will be 2:00 pm Friday, May 31, 2019 at The Lubbock Dream Center with Pastor George Botello officiating. Visitation will begin Thursday morning at 9:00 am with a rosary at 7:00pm at Calvillo Funeral Home. All arrangements were made under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home.

Luis was born June 26, 1991 in Lubbock to Luis Martinez Jr. and Frances Tellez.  He graduated from Lubbock High and worked for Lydick-Hooks Roofing as a roofer.  He loved sports, playing basketball, and being the jokester he was; he loved giving people a hard time.  He was loved by many and his loving demeanor will be missed by all.

He is survived by his father, Luis “Stretch” T Martinez Sr.; four brothers, Jesse Tellez, Joe Tellez, Antonio Martinez, Andrew Martinez all of Lubbock; one sister, Virginia Martinez of Oklahoma City; seven nieces and nephews, Jaelin Tellez, Kaden Tellez, Aria Martinez, Kamille Martinez, Andrea Cardiel, Karina Cardiel, Emily Cardiel, Yynette Cardiel.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Frances Tellez; grandparents, Eufemia & Jesse Tellez, Beatrice Teneyuque; three uncles.
