Julia Duran

Rosary for Julia S. Duran 93 of Austin, formerly of Woodrow, will be at 7:00 pm Sunday, May 7, 2017 at Calvillo Funeral Home Chapel/Tahoka.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am Monday, May 8, 2017 at St. Jude Catholic Church in Tahoka with Father Martin Pina officiating.  Burial will follow in Nevels Cemetery, Tahoka under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home.

Julia was born December 13, 1923 in Sonora, Texas to the late Henero and Maria Sastre.

She married Santana Duran Sr. in Tahoka who preceded her in death.  She was a homemaker, she loved to crochet and was a seamstress by trade.  She loved animals and was a Catholic.  At a young age, she taught herself how to read and write.

She is survived by a son Santana Duran of Austin, three grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
