On the afternoon of Wednesday, February 28, 2024, Josie went to be with the Lord. She was born on May 11, 1967, in Lubbock to the late Paul Sr. and Juanita Gutierrez. She grew up in a loving home and made countless childhood memories with her family and friends. Her family will particularly remember her playing and enjoying the game of softball in her younger days.
Later in life Josie went on to work numerous years as a dedicated Presser for National Linen. Where her strong work ethic, kindness and loving heart left a lasting impact on all those around her. Her commitment to her work was unwavering and admirable.
Josie found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She enjoyed the excitement of horseback riding and the challenge of mountain climbing. In moments of relaxation, she would often listen to music, finding solace in the melodies of Rock, Spanish tunes, and R & B beats.
Josie shared a deep connection with her twin sister Julia. They celebrated each other's triumphs, no matter how small, and held each other close during the storms that life invariably brings. They were not only just sisters, but were confidantes, companions, and the truest of friends. They’re relationship was a true example of love, trust, and unwavering support. “La Cuata” will miss you deeply, but will hold onto the bond, the memories and love you both shared for each other.
Josie’s love for her daughter Sara Lee and her grandchildren knew no bounds, and they all felt it. She was always willing to go above and beyond when it came to anything they needed. She was a wonderful combination of warmth and kindness to them. But she was also someone they admired and respected. She overlooked they’re faults, encouraged they’re dreams and praised them every time she could. Josie will always have a cherished place in their hearts, and they will hold onto her memory forever.
Lastly, Josie will be remembered for how she was always very caring and loving to whoever walked her path. She would give you her last dollar if she had it. Her contagious smile would light up any room and she was just so beautiful.
