Jose Zavala

Prayer Service for Jose N. Zavala 78, of Lubbock will be held 7:00 P.M., Friday, July 6, 2018 at Calvillo Funeral Home Chapel. Services for Mr. Zavala will be 2:00 P.M., Saturday, July 7, 2018 at Calvillo Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Emilio Sauceda officiating.  Burial will follow at City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home.

Jose was born November 18, 1939 in Mexico to the late Jose V. and Maria Zavala, he passed away on July 4, 2018 in Lubbock. On November 16, 1962 he married Lena Griego in Altus, Oklahoma she preceded him in death on January 13, 2016.

Mr. Zavala was a simple man at heart. He worked as a security guard for many years and provided a good life for his family. Jose went on to pastor for a few years and was committed to a Christian life.

He is preceded in death by two brothers Francisco Zavala and Guadalupe Zavala, three nephews.

Those left to honor his memory are his sons Luciano (Yolanda) Zavala and Jose Zavala; a daughter Patricia (Randy) Guzman; three brothers Carlos Zavala, Juan Zavala and David Zavala; sisters Angela Mendoza, Antonia Zavala, Balbina (Bobbie) Hernandez and Ramona Leal; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
