Viewing and visitation for Mr. Johnny M. Hernandez, 69 of Lubbock will begin Friday, January 10, 2025, 11:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m. at Calvillo Funeral Home Chapel with a rosary beginning at 6:00 p.m. the same evening. Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 11, 2025, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with Father Martin Pina officiating. Burial will follow at City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home & Chapel.

On the evening of Tuesday, January 7, 2025, Johnny went to be with the Lord. He was born November 26, 1955, to the late Aurelio and Genoveva Hernandez and lived a life filled with warmth, joy, and passion, endearing himself to all who had the pleasure of knowing him.For many years, Johnny dedicated his career to Bryan's Steakhouse. His engaging smile and kind spirit made him a cherished figure among both colleagues and patrons alike. 

Johnny took pride in every service he provided and every interaction he shared, reflecting a commitment to excellence that extended far beyond his professional endeavors. Outside of work, Johnny was a man of many interests. He had a deep love for dancing and found great joy in listening to music, with a particular fondness for Spanish melodies that brought him comfort and happiness. Cooking and keeping his home tidy were also passions he embraced wholeheartedly, showcasing his nurturing spirit. He was an avid fan of western movies, often losing himself in their tales, and was an avid fan of The Dallas Cowboys, whose games he followed with great excitement.

Johnny M. Hernandez will be remembered not only for the laughter he brought into our lives, but for the love he so freely gave.

He is preceded in death by his parents Aurelio and Genoveva Hernandez, and his brother, Trinidad Hernandez, who preceded him in death in 2012.

He is survived by his brothers Luis Hernandez, Aurelio Hernandez, Ruben Hernandez, and Mario Hernandez; and his sisters Marissa Hernandez, Sylvia De La Rosa, Adela Hernandez, Christina Hernandez, and Teresa Valencia. His special friend, Elisa Regalado Valadez; also host of nieces and nephews who cherished their time with him.
