Jesus Galvan

Jesus G. Galvan, 70, passed away Monday, May 31, 2021 in Lubbock.  Services for Mr. Galvan will be 11:00a.m., Monday, June 7, 2021 at The Dream Center in Lubbock with Pastor Josh Ramirez officiating.  Burial will follow in Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home. Viewing will be 2:00-8:00pm on Saturday, June 5, 2021 and 2:00-8:00pm on Sunday, June 6, 2021. At Calvillo Funeral Home Chapel (Lubbock).

“Jessie” was born March 3, 1951 in Martindale to Nicholas and Michaela Galvan.  He married Lofiria Gomez in Lubbock and were married for forty-six years. He worked for the City of Lubbock in the Solid Waste Department for many years. He enjoyed life in many aspects; playing pool, watching football, drinking coffee and also loved tortillas and chile. He was a professional social person and loved by many. However, his greatest joy was spending time with his family and being the best grandfather to his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers Fidel Galvan and Pedro Galvan.

He is survived by his wife Lofiria Galvan of Lubbock; three sons; Ruben Garcia, Antonio Galvan, and Nicholas Galvan all of Lubbock; one daughter Karen L. Alonso of Lubbock; one brother Emilio Galvan of Lubbock; three sisters Lorenza Herrera, Dominga Herrera and Sulema Ortiz all of Lubbock; nine grandchildren; three great great grandchildren.
