Jessie R. Flores

Viewing and visitation for Mr. Jessie R. Flores 88 of Slaton, will begin Tuesday, May 7, 2024, 10:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m. at Calvillo Funeral Home Chapel with a rosary beginning at 6:00 p.m. the same evening. Funeral Mass will begin 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with Father Joseph Thanavelil officiating. Burial will follow at Idalou Cemetery. All arrangements were made under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home and Chapel.

On the morning of Saturday, May 4, 2024, Jessie went to be with the Lord. He was born on July 22, 1935, to the late Valintine and Maria Flores. Jessie lived a fulfilling life full of laughter and cherished moments. In 1959 Jessie went onto marry Gregoria Rome in Slaton cherishing forty-nine years of a loving marriage before she preceded him in death on March 26, 2008. He was a farmer for numerous years before retiring. He enjoyed word search puzzles, watching wrestling matches, and cheering for The Dallas Cowboys and Texas Tech sport teams. Among his proudest accomplishments was being a dedicated member of the Knights of Columbus #7590, where he found community and purpose. Jessie will forever be remembered for his warm heart, contagious laughter, and unwavering love for his family.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Gregoria Flores, daughters Teresa Rosales Arellano, Angela Flores Maldonado, and Hilda Flores.

Jessie will be deeply missed by his loving family and friends.

 He is survived by his son Jessie Flores Jr. (Dalia) of Acuff; daughters Irma Saenz (Pedro) of Arlington and Rosalinda Flores of Slaton; as well as his brother Pete Flores of Acuff. Additionally, he leaves behind nineteen grandchildren and thirty-one great-grandchildren.
