Isabel M. Luna Sr., 96 of Lubbock passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2022. Viewing and visitation for Mr. Luna will begin Thursday, November 3, 2022, from 11:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m. with a rosary at 6:00 p.m. the same day. Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00 a.m., Friday, November 4, 2022, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with Father Joseph Thanavelil officiating. Burial will follow in City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home.
Isabel was born November 5, 1925, in Gonzales, Texas to the late Pedro and Simona Luna. He was married to Josepha Carrion in 1943 she preceded him in death in 2013. He worked for Hamilton Acoustics as an acoustics ceiling installer for many years. Isabel was a hard worker all his life and enjoyed working on his yard most of the time. He also enjoyed listening to music especially conjunto music. He was an avid guitar player and enjoyed playing along with his friends and relatives. He also loved his dog by the name of “Orejas” who accompanied him everywhere he went. However, his greatest joy in life was being with his family. He will forever be in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife Josepha Luna; his parents Pedro and Simona Luna, a son Ysabel Juan Luna Jr., a grandson Vito Luna; and two great granddaughters Mena Moseley, Jasmine Luna.
Those left to cherish his memory are his two sons, Felipe Guzman and wife Socorro of Aurora, Illinois and Joe Luna and wife Oralia of Lubbock, eight grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren, and five great great grandchildren.
