Inez Gutierrez

Inez Gutierrez 81 of O’Donnell went to be with the Lord surrounded by her family on Sunday, November 8, 2015. Inez was born on October 22, 1934 in Kosciusko, Texas to the late Julio and Seferina Moreno.

She married Manuel Gutierrez Sr. on October 27, 1951 in Tahoka, he preceded her in death on November 11, 2011. Inez was a homemaker, she loved to garden, she loved to pass time sewing quilts. She had a passion for cooking for her family, she was known by her family to make the best tamales.

She is preceded in death by her sisters Isabel De La Cruz, and Miguila Gomez, her brothers Calendario Moreno, Alejandro Moreno, Ramon Moreno and Quirino Moreno.

She is survived by four sons, Manuel Jr and Elida Gutierrez of Lubbock, Ruben and Olga Gutierrez of Lamesa, Alex and Minerva Gutierrez of O’Donnell , and Ricky  and Lupe Gutierrez of Houston, three daughters Isabel and Alberto Gloria of O’Donnell, Dianne and Jose Trevino of Giddings, and Josie Gutierrez of Giddings, a brother Gabriel Aguerro of Dallas, ten sisters Josephina Jio of Dallas, Eloisa Sustaita of Lubbock, Lydia Gutierrez of Tahoka, Angelita Reyes of Dallas, Albina Torrez of Rowlett, Julia Moreno of Mansfield, Janie Sanchez of Houston, Shiela Garcia and Maria Adams both of Arlington, and Cruz Benavidez of Waxahachie, 16 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.

The Gutierrez family will receive family and friends today at 6 PM at Calvillo Funeral Home Chapel-Tahoka with a prayer service following at 7 PM.

Funeral services will be on Wednesday at 10 AM at First Baptist Church of O’Donnell with Rev. Lee Gamez officiating.

Burial will follow in the City of O’Donnell Cemetery under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home and Chapel.
