Viewing and visitation for Guadalupe Barrientos, 84, of Lubbock will be from 2:00 p.m.to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, January 3, 2021 with a rosary beginning at 6:00 p.m. the same day in the Chapel of Calvillo Funeral Home. Graveside services will begin 1:00 p.m., Monday, January 4, 2021 at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park with Deacon Joe Morin officiating, under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home & Chapel.
Mr. Barrientos was called to be with the Lord, Wednesday, December 30, 2020. He was born on August 15, 1936, in Slaton to the late Jesus and Soledad Barrientos. Guadalupe was Catholic and was a member of the Crusillista’s at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. He worked in the construction business as a concrete layer for numerous years. In his spare time, he enjoyed working on his truck, sitting outside enjoying good weather and spending time with his dogs “Molly” and “Smokey”. His family will always remember and cherish how he loved to tell stories and was always smiling.
He is preceded in death by his parents Jesus and Soledad Barrientos; three brothers Aboirsto “Joe” Barrientos, Santos Barrientos and Miguel Barrientos.
Survivors include a brother Johnny Barrientos of Lubbock; two sisters Mary Mendoza and Connie Gauna both of Lubbock.
According to local and state guidelines, facemasks will be required at all times during visitation and funeral services. Temperatures will be taken upon entering funeral home
