Gloria Bastardo

On the afternoon of September 21, 2023, Gloria Bastardo 75, of Lubbock entered into eternal rest. She was Born on June 30, 1948, in Laredo, Texas, to Jose Ramirez and Maria Barron Puente; she was also raised by her loving stepfather Aristeo Puente. Later in life in 1967, Gloria went onto marry Jose Bastardo in Lubbock cherishing fifty-six years and nine months of a true loving marriage.

Gloria was a cherished Avon Representative. She took great joy in assisting her clients and ensuring that they felt beautiful and confident. 

Outside of work, Gloria enjoyed simple pleasures that brought immense joy to her life. She found delight in going out to eat with her loved ones which of course this also included her visiting her favorite restaurants around Lubbock.

In addition, Gloria possessed a creative spirit. Her hobbies included listening to music, particularly Mariachi music, and dancing. Furthermore, she taught herself to sew and crochet. Lastly, Gloria had an eye for antiques and enjoyed collecting these special treasures throughout her life.

Her family will always remember how Gloria had a nurturing personality that shined brightly wherever she went. She was known for her kindness and unwavering love for others, especially her family. They will always cherish the memories they have with her.

She is preceded in death by her father Jose Ramirez; mother, Maria, and stepfather, Aristeo Puente; sons Matias Ortiz Jr. and Ernesto Ortiz; a daughter Malinda Bastardo and a brother Jesse Ramirez.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Jose Bastardo; her son Ruben Ramirez; daughter Leticia and husband Felix Cobos; twelve grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren all of Lubbock.
