Georgia Mae White

Visitation for Ms. Georgia Mae White, 82 of Lubbock will begin 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 9, 2022, at Calvillo Funeral Home Chapel-Lubbock with a prayer service beginning at 6:00 p.m. the same evening. A Celebration of Life will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 10, 2022, at Greater Saint James Baptist Church with Rev. Jack Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home.

Ms. White was called to be with the Lord, Sunday, December 4, 2022. She was born on September 28, 1940, in Leon, Texas to Gradie and Mary Belle Sims. Georgia worked numerous years as a cook for Griffin Truck Stop, before retiring. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking and playing dominos. However, her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, she especially enjoyed watching her grandchildren play football. Georgia will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.  

She is preceded in death by her parents Gradie and Mary Belle Sims; and by two daughters Mary Louis White and Opal White.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sons Arther Lee White Jr., Dewayne White and Will White. A daughter Janice M. White; brothers Matthew Fillmore, Jessie Fillmore, and Winford Fillmore; sisters Annie Fillmore and Toni Jones; a daughter in law Abigail White; grandchildren Lekeya White, Dedrick White, Derrick White, and five additional grandchildren; three great grandchildren Taylyn White, Elsa White and Aria White.
