Estella "Puma" Vasquez

Mrs. Estella “Puma” Vasquez, 79, of O’Donnell, Texas passed away on Friday, December 23^rd, 2022. Visitation will begin Wednesday, December 28^th, 2022, at 1:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. with a prayer service at 6:00 P.M. the same evening at Calvillo Funeral Home Chapel-Tahoka. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, December 29^th, 2022, 11:00 A.M. at Calvillo Funeral Home Chapel-Tahoka. Officiating will be son-in-law, Victor Enriquez and grandson, Christian Enriquez. Gravesite services will follow at Nevels Cemetery in Tahoka. Arrangements were made under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home & Chapel.

Estella was born September 10^th, 1943, in Odem, Texas, to the late Manuel and Eloisa Vega Hernandez. Later in life she moved to O’Donnell, Texas where she met and married the love of her life, Frank Eugene “Fox” Vasquez on March 12^th, 1978, in Tahoka. She worked as a cook for several restaurants including Eagle’s Nest and Brewer’s in O’Donnell. Estella also farmed in the O’Donnell/Tahoka areas for many years. Her hobbies included shopping, visiting estate sales and garage sales, taking care of her plants and spoiling her pets. Estella loved to spend time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; she was very dedicated to them. She will be remembered as a kind, loving and understanding person who always came to any in need.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Manuel and Eloisa Vega Hernandez; her brothers Andres Hernandez and Jose Hernandez; and a sister Manuela Hernandez.

Those left to carry on her memory are husband Frank Eugene Vasquez of Lubbock; daughters Janie Enriquez of Lamesa and Blanca Garza of Brownfield; stepsons, Mario Vasquez and Tomas Vasquez of Dallas; 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
