Visitation for Elmo Dominguez Minjarez Jr. 54, of Lubbock will begin 11:00 a.m.- 9:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at Calvillo Funeral Home Chapel with a rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. the same evening. Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 27, 2024, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with Father Martin Pina officiating. Burial will follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park. Arrangements were made under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home & Chapel.

On the morning of September 18, 2024, sooner than anyone expected, Elmo went to be with the Lord. He was born on November 10, 1969, in Slaton to Elmo Sr. and Alice Minjarez. An accomplished remodeler, Elmo immense pride in his work, transforming homes with his skilled hands. Each project he undertook was a labor of love, imbued with his personal touch, showcasing not just his talent but also his commitment to excellence. This dedication resonated deeply with those who had the privilege to know him, as he poured himself into every endeavor, turning visions into reality.

Beyond his career, Elmo was a man of simple pleasures. He cherished listening to music, and the melodies often provided a soundtrack to the laughter and warmth shared during the cherished moments spent with family and friends. These gatherings were where his spirit shined brightest, as he fostered connections that radiated love and joy.

As we honor the memory of Elmo Dominguez Minjarez Jr., let us carry forward the lessons of love, pride in our work, and the importance of family that he exemplified so well. Rest in peace, dear Elmo; you will be profoundly missed.

He is preceded in death by his father Elmo Dominguez Minjarez Sr. and a sister Laure Lara.

He is survived by his mother, Alice Minjarez of Lubbock; brother Alvino Minjarez of Utah; sister, Corinna Lopez and husband Chris of Lubbock, a stepson Brandon Lee Rios and stepdaughter Marcie Maricela Sandoval both of Lubbock, numerous nieces and nephews.
