Rosary for Elena V. Sifuentes 80 of Lubbock will be today at 7 PM at Calvillo Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday May 19, 2015 at 10 AM at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with Monsignor Jim O'Connor officiating. Entombment will be at Resthaven Mausoleum under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home and Chapel.
Elena went to be with the Lord on Friday May 15, 2015. She was born on January 24, 1935 in Asherton, Texas to the late Manuel and Theodora Vargas. She married Anacleto Sifuentes on April 29,1952 in Asherton,Texas. He preceded her in death in 1996. Elena had worked for Catholic Family Services and the Food Bank before retiring. She was a Catholic and a Guadalupana. Her passion was to crochet and sew quilts.
She is preceded in death by a son Daniel Sifuentes in 2011.
Survivors include eight sons, Anacleto Jr and Irma Sifuentes of San Diego, CA, Tereso and Cecilia Sifuentes of Amarillo, Guadalupe Sifuentes of Lubbock,Diego Sifuentes of Laurel,Maryland, Gerald and Kim Sifuentes of Lubbock, Gabriel and Rita Sifuentes of Lubbock, Leonardo Sifuentes of Houston, Luciano Sifuentes of Lubbock, four daughters Maria and Jesse Alamanza of Lubbock, Rosa and Ramon Gallegos of Del Rio, Gracie Sifuentes and Patricia Sifuentes both of Lubbock, two brothers Lupe Vargas of Beaumont and Manuel Vargas Jr of Asherton,, three sisters Delia Cano of Hereford, Alicia Vargas and Estella Hernandez  both of Asherton, 26 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren .
