Burial arrangements for Daniel N. Mata, 89 of Lubbock took place on Thursday, October 19, 2023. Arrangements were made under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home & Chapel.

On the evening of Thursday, September 28, 2023, Daniel N. Mata, went to be with the Lord. He was born on January 3, 1934 to the late Guadalupe and Maria Mata in Poteet, Texas. Daniel was a hardworking individual, his life revolved around his passion for farming. He took great pride in watching the fruits of his labor grow. With each harvest season, Daniel's fields flourished under his attentive care.

Beyond his love for farming, Daniel was a devoted Catholic who found solace in his faith.
Daniel cherished a meaningful connection with his loyal friend Adan, they supported one another through the ups and downs of life and their bond was the true meaning of a friendship.

May his soul rest in peace, Daniel will be missed by those who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers Gregory Mata, Santos Mata and Joe Mata; a sister Antonia Gonzales

He is survived by his friend Adan S. Granger of Austin.
