Recitation of the rosary for Dahlia D. Mosqueda, 57 of Lubbock will begin 6:00 p.m., Monday, March 18, 2024, at Calvillo Funeral Home Chapel. A Memorial service will begin 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Deacon Joe Martinez officiating. Arrangements were made under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home & Chapel.
On the morning of Friday, March 8, 2024, Dahlia went to be with the Lord. She was born on December 14, 1966, in Mason, Texas to Theodora Sauceda. Later in life on June 3, 2016, she went on to marry Bonifacio G. Mosqueda Jr. in Lubbock. She was a dedicated homemaker and was known for her unwavering dedication to her family and her selfless nature. Dahlia was always the first to give and the last to take, she always put others before herself. Dahlia's warm and loving personality not only touched the hearts of all who knew and loved her, but she also set an example for her family to follow. However, above all else Dahlia loved being a grandmother. From the moment her very first granddaughter Soledad was born, she became her whole world. Soledad was always there to assist her in whatever needs she needed. Her love for her other grandchildren knew no bounds as well and they all felt her love. Lastly, Dahlia will be remembered as the most amazing wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her legacy of love, kindness and selflessness will be forever cherished.
In her free time, Dahlia enjoyed collecting various items and had a special fondness for Winnie the Pooh. Her collections brought her joy and allowed her to express her creativity in unique ways. She also found solace in listening to music, especially music by Barry White.
Dahlia is preceded in death by a brother Michael Cantu.
She is survived by her husband, Bonifacio G. Mosqueda Jr.; daughter Crystal Lee Cantu; mother Theodora Sauceda; a sister Jan Sauceda, brothers Anthony Salazar, Robert Salazar, Domingo Cantu and Gary Sauceda; a sister in law Donna Mosqueda; four nieces and three nephews; her grandchildren Soledad Chavarria, Bjorn Guzman, Graciela Ruiz, Emmett Aguilar, Ivan Aguilar and Elias Ruiz all of Lubbock.
