Obituary:
Rosary for Bonifacio P. Hernandez 87 of Lubbock will be on Sunday May 12, 2013 at 7 PM at Calvillo Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be held on Monday May 13, 2013 at 10 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Andres Mendoza officiating. Burial will be in Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home and Chapel.
Bonifacio passed away on Thursday May 9, 2013 in Lubbock. He was born on May 14, 1925 in Denver,Colorado to the late Miguel and Herminia Hernandez. He married Lily Hiracheta in 1951 in Tahoka.He was a retired farmer., He loved to fish, work on his home landscaping, mechanicing and was a great inventor.
He move to Lubbock from Tahoka in 1979.
Survivors include his wife of Mineral Wells, four sons, David Hernandez of Tahoka, Ramon Hernandez of Mineral Wells, Pete Hernandez of Lubbock and Pablo Hernandez of Mineral Wells, two daughters Janie H. Medina of Lubbock and Mary Ann Schwertner of Wilson, a brother David Hernandez of Dallas and a sister Rosa Saldana of Tahoka. 13 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
