On the afternoon of Thursday, February 6, 2025, Blas went to be with the Lord. He was born October 30, 1938, in Kenedy, Texas, to the late Felix and Guadalupe Gutierrez. He later married Vickie Perez in November of 1957, in Tahoka, Texas. Blas embraced life with an unwavering spirit and a deep love for his family, which became the cornerstone of his existence.

As a dedicated farmer, Blas poured his heart into the land, nurturing both crops and the bonds with those around him. His profound wisdom was matched only by his ability to share stories rich with lessons and morals, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the honor of listening. Blas had a remarkable personality, radiating joy and humor. Even in his final days, he remained a jokester, bringing smiles to the faces of loved ones and reminding us all of the beauty found in laughter.

Blas’s love for music was a defining aspect of who he was; he was a gifted musician who played numerous instruments, with the accordion holding a special place in his heart. He joyfully performed with his brothers in the band "El Conjunto Los Hermanitos Gutierrez," creating memories that would resonate through generations. A passionate listener of all kinds of music, Blas's melodies filled the family home with warmth and connection.

As we reflect on the life of Blas Gutierrez, let us remember a man who cultivated not only the land but also the hearts of those around him. His gentle spirit, laughter, and wisdom he provided to his family and friends will forever resonate in the memories of all who knew him. May his soul rest in peace, cherished and embraced by the love he so freely gave.

He is preceded in death by his loving parents, Felix and Guadalupe Gutierrez; a son, Jesse Ray Gutierrez; three beloved grandchildren Caleb Marmolejo, Leticia Roxanne Garza, and Jade Carrizales; as well as brothers Juan Gutierrez, Manuel Gutierrez, Jose Gutierrez, Santos Gutierrez and Antonio Gutierrez; also by a sister Angela Trejo.
