Billy Close Sr.

Billy Frank Close Sr,62, of Lubbock, Texas, passed away Sunday, September 22, 2019 in Lubbock.  A celebration of life will be held for Mr. Close 2:00pm Friday, September 27, 2019 at Calvillo Funeral Home and Chapel with Deacon Luis Nava officiating.

He was born May 17, 1957 to Billy Pierce and Wilma Jean Close. He graduated from Spearman High School and attended South Plains College for three years. He worked as a PBX operator at Covenant for many years. He was also a veteran and served his country honorably in the Navy. Billy had various interests in life such as football, classic cars, motorcycles and fishing, however; his greatest passion was photography, especially photographing nature. He was loved by many and his loving demeanor will be missed by all.

He is survived by his wife Pauline; his father Billy Pierce Close; three sons; Robert (Inez) Close, Billy (Carlos) Madrid, Jeremy Humble; two granddaughters; , Alyssa Caudillo, Aliana Caudillo; three sisters; Toni Queen of White Bluff, Tn., Sue Close of Stephenville, Jeanne Close of Stephenville; five grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his mother Wilma Jean Close (Dec. 10, 1997); one daughter Samantha Close (Nov. 23, 2014)
