Benita Menjares

Benita R. Menjares, 78, passed away Saturday, October 19, 2019 in Lubbock. Services for Mrs. Menjares will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at Westview Baptist Church in Slaton with Pastor Ed Sullivan officiating. Burial will follow in Englewood Cemetery under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home. Viewing and visitation for Mrs. Menjares will begin 1p.m., Monday, October 21, 2019 at Calvillo Funeral Home Chapel.

Benita was born November 17, 1940 in Junction, TX to Benito & Refugia Rodriquez. She married Juan Menjares on January 18, 1958 in Haskell, Texas he preceded in death on August 23, 2017. Mrs. Menjares was a devout Christian she loved attending church and singing Christian music. Her family will always cherish the love and care she had for them.

She leaves behind two sons Johnny Menjares of Post and Manuel Menjares of Lamesa; three daughters Olga Medina of Lubbock, Isabel Menjares of Lamesa and Melissa Garza of Ralls; two brothers Gabriel Rodriquez of Ropes and Ben Rodriquez of Victoria; three sisters Virginia Garcia of Snyder, Maria Romero of Lubbock and Refugia Luna of Snyder. Twenty grandchildren and Twenty-four great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by a brother Angel Rodriquez; three sisters Lola Macias, Anita Macias and Lupe Chavez.
