The family of Mrs. Belia C. Martinez, 89 of Ralls, will host a memorial service at a later date. Cremation arrangements were made under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home & Chapel.
On the evening of Friday, October 18, 2024, Belia, a beloved matriarch and cherished friend, passed away peacefully, at the age of 89. She was born on September 15, 1935, in Karnes City, Texas, to the late Ramon and Petra Casarez. Later in life Belia went onto marry Jose Martinez, cherishing numerous years of a loving marriage before he preceded her in death on April 26, 2003. Belia possessed a remarkable passion for life, which she expressed through her hobbies and interests. In her later years, she found peace and satisfaction in sewing, particularly in crafting lovely aprons that she excitedly gifted to those around her. Aside from her needle and thread, she enjoyed the calming pastime of adult coloring, always creating vibrant works of art that represented her colorful spirit. She also relished spending time with her family, sharing laughter and stories that were the foundation of their cherished memories together. An unexpected passion of hers was watching wrestling, a hobby that always sparked animated discussions and endless entertainment with her family.
As we honor Belia C. Martinez, we remember a woman defined by her love for her family, her creativity, and her resilience. Her presence filled rooms with warmth and laughter, and her kindness touched countless lives. Though she has departed from this earthly realm, her spirit continues to shine brightly in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Belia will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered, as her life was a remarkable gift to all who are fortunate enough to know her.
She is preceded in death by her devoted husband, Jose Martinez; her parents, Ramon and Petra Casarez; and her children, Robert Martinez, Oralia Villanueva, and Teresa Ann Martinez.
She is survived by four sons, Joe Martinez (Staci) of Vilonia, Arkansas, Jimmy Martinez of Ralls, Texas, Ricky Martinez of Ralls, Texas, and Raymond Martinez (Rachelle) of Beeville, Texas; a daughter, Hortencia Puente of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; twelve grandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren.
