Barbara Johnson-Love

Viewing and visitation for Barbara “Bobbie” Love, 78 of Slaton will be held 4 p.m.–7 p.m., Friday, January 8, 2021 at Calvillo Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services for Ms. Love will be 11 a.m., Saturday, January 9, 2021 at Calvillo Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Larry L. Polk officiating. Burial will follow in The City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home.

Barbara Jean Johnson-Love was born September 23, 1942 in Lorenzo, Texas to the parentage of Jinks and Mable Johnson. She entered into eternal peace on December 26, 2020. Ms. Love confessed her faith in Christ and was baptized at Triumph Missionary Baptist Church in Slaton, Texas. Where she worked as a pastor’s aid and in many other departments. Later in her life Barbara joined with the New Hope Church family and she loved them very much. But Never forgot Triumph. Barabara was a sweetheart, loving and gentle person.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son L.D. Byrd Jr.; Three brothers Herbert Johnson, Willie “Bill” Johnson, Larry Washington and a sister Ruby Moses.

Ms. Love leaves to cherish her memory three sons Robert Wayne Johnson (Patricia), John Allen (Janice)  and Roylee Love; a daughter Diana Kay Goebes; three sisters Clara Blakemore, Florence (John) Turner and Glenda (Michael) Wright all of Lubbock. Four Brothers Leroy (Louise) Johnson of Slaton, Irvin Ray (Helen) Washington of Slaton, Billy Wayne Washington, John Wayne Washington both of Lubbock; one aunt Abbie Ricks of Austin; Fourteen grandchildren, A host of nieces, nephews, relatives, church family and friends.

According to local and state guidelines, facemasks will be required at all times during visitation and funeral services. Temperatures will be taken upon entering funeral home
