Antonio “Tony” Maldonado, 67 of Lubbock passed away Wednesday, October 6, 2021. Visitation will begin Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at Calvillo Funeral Home Chapel (Lubbock) from 11:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m., with a rosary beginning at 6:00 p.m. the same evening. Graveside Services will begin, 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 14, 2021, at Wolfforth Cemetery with Deacon Joe Morin officiating (There will be no viewing prior to the graveside, family and friends will meet at Wolfforth Cemetery) . All arrangements were made under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home and Chapel.
Antonio was born January 22, 1954, in Lubbock to the late Marcello and Frances Maldonado. “Tony” as he was known as, worked numerous years as a sign electrician, before retiring. He was a simple man, enjoyed playing softball and always enjoyed time with his family. His memory will always remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a son.
Those left to cherish his memory are his two sons Gabriel Gonzales of Lubbock and Antonio Salomon Maldonado of Phoenix, Arizona; three daughters Melissa Mascarenas Orozco of Georgetown, April Rose Lopez of San Antonio and Melonie Romo of Lubbock; four brothers Marcello Maldonado, Jessie Maldonado, Johnny Maldonado and Joe Maldonado all of Lubbock; four sisters Janie Garza, Rosie Janssen, Delores Martinez and Mary Maldonado all of Lubbock; thirteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
