Antonio Martinez

Antonio C Martinez was born February 3, 1937 in San Antonio to Melton & Sophia Martinez.  He married Martha Vasquez on October 3, 1963 in Lubbock and worked as a self-employed mechanic for most his life. As a mechanic he enjoyed working on cars but also enjoyed fishing, watching westerns, WWE wrestling, and the Dallas Cowboys.  Towards the end though, Tony enjoyed sitting on his porch and taking it easy as he watched people and cars pass by.  He was a husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who loved spending time with his family and friends.

On the morning of February 1, 2020, only two days before his 83rd birthday surrounded by family; Antonio C Martinez went to be with his Lord.  Those left to cherish his loving memory are his wife, Martha V Martinez; threes sons, Antonio Martinez Jr., Magdeleno Martinez, Danny Martinez; a daughter, Norma Reina; ten grandchildren. Melissa Martinez, Sophia Martinez, Reuben Martinez, Juan Martinez, Amanda Reaves, Vanessa Green, Jessica Allen, Christopher Gonzales, Freddy Martinez Jr., Yesenia Martinez and seven great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by a son, Freddy Martinez, one grandson, Antonio Martinez III; two brothers, Raul Martinez, Margarito Martinez; two sisters, Juanita Martinez, Lupita Martinez.

Services for Mr. Martinez will be 10:00 am Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Father Martin Pina officiating. Burial will follow in Peaceful Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home. A rosary will be held 7:00 pm Monday February 3, 2020 at Calvillo Funeral Home with visitation starting at 8:00 am.
